GROWING® TAIWAN BLACK TEA
(ISO22000:2005, HACCP, HALAL)
Many people have tasted Taiwan’s high mountain tea. Compared to Taiwan’s black tea, there are far fewer people who know about it. Many tea friends will ask that Taiwan also has black tea?
In fact, Taiwan not only has black tea, but also many black teas of excellent quality.
Nantou is a well-known production area for Taiwan’s large-leaf black tea. The annual average temperature and stable high humidity environment are the biggest characteristics. In the early days of the Japanese occupation, because the Japanese thought that this place in Taiwan was very suitable for the growth of black tea, it was introduced from India. The black leaf tea seedlings are planted, and the quality of the black tea planted is extremely good, and a black tea laboratory is established locally to cultivate and improve tree species.
Black tea is a type of tea that is more oxidized than oolong, yellow, white and green teas. Black tea is generally stronger in flavor than other teas. All four types are made from leaves of the shrub (or small tree) Camellia sinensis. Two principal varieties of the species are used – the small-leaved Chinese variety plant (C. sinensis var. sinensis), used for most other types of teas, and the large-leaved Assamese plant (C. sinensis var. assamica), which was traditionally mainly used for black tea, although in recent years some green and white teas have been produced.

Introduction of Taiwan Famous Tea:
One of Taiwan’s high mountain teas is called Sun Moon Lake Purple bud Camellia Tea, the black tea is made with a light floral fragrance, a golden soup with reddish color, sweet taste, and a sweet throat. It belongs to the top grade of black tea.
Assam Black Tea is produced in Nantou Yuchi. It is introduced from India's wild big-leaf species and picked from Taiwan. Assam black tea has a strong aroma, a reddish soup color, a mellow taste, and is gentle and does not hurt the stomach.
Taiwan Tea No. 8 is also produced in Nantou Yuchi. It belongs to the improved species of Assam. It is like Assam's rich glycol and has astringent taste. It is suitable for mixing with milk or making a base for tea beverages.
Ruby Black Tea (Taiwan Tea No. 18), produced in Nantou Yuchi, is also called Sun Moon Lake black tea because it is near Sun Moon Lake. Ruby black tea is made by combining wild Taiwanese tea with Burmese big leaf species.
This black tea is quite well-known in Taiwan, and it has both cinnamon and light mint aromas, and is known by black tea experts as unique: Taiwan fragrance. The tea has both the vigorous Assam's strength and the strong spicy aroma of Ceylon Uva tea, suitable for clearing hot drinks.
Hongyun Black Tea (Taiwan Tea No. 21) is produced in Yuchi, Nantou, and is a descendant of a hybrid between the large leaf species of India and the small leaf species of Qimen. When drinking, it has the aroma of flowers and fruits, citrus flowers, golden and bright soup color, sweet and refreshing taste, suitable for clear hot drinks.
The tea is made from Taiwan's Chinxing Kantzu tea cultivar or Chinxing oolong tea after being bitten by Jacobiasca formosana. The natural tea made after Jacobiasca formosana bites has a unique honey flavor. The tea soup tastes sweet. In particular, Jacobiasca formosana is relatively fragile, and if pesticides are sprayed in the growing environment, it cannot survive. So there are camellia and Camellia trees where this cicada grows naturally, the tea made is also relatively safe.
In addition to the Taiwanese black teas mentioned above, there are also oolong tea greens, especially hand-picked in summer. The black teas made are also remarkable.
Jin Xuan Black Tea is also worth recommending. Jin Xuan varieties were originally used to make oolong tea in Taiwan, which is hot in summer. The black tea made has the unique milky aroma of Jin Xuan, which is sweet and aftertaste.
